Christina, a.k.a. The Kimono Lady, has been a fan of kimono since 1998, when she found a beautiful book of kimono photographs in her college library.
She later spent five years living and working in Japan, in the cities of Sendai and Tokyo, and now enjoys introducing Western audiences to kimono and Japanese culture here in the States. An educator by trade, Christina provides fun and informative presentations and seminars, opening a colorful window onto the Land of the Rising Sun.
(Given the recent earthquake, tsunami and nuclear issues facing Japan, please consider donating to any reputable charity assisting in Japan, praying for the victims, or just spreading the word about what has happened. It will take Japan a long time to recover from this disaster.)
Or library, or birthday party, or just about anywhere. The Kimono Lady is available for a basic one-hour kimono and culture seminar, free of charge, to public institutions such as accredited schools, school clubs, libraries and private educational groups like the Girl Scouts. Please see "Free Seminars" for more details.
If you'd like to bring The Kimono Lady to a private event, club meeting
or party in Houston or the surrounding area, there is a fee of $39.00 for a one-hour, custom-themed presentation tailored to your needs. Longer events are possible at a flat rate of $20 per additional hour. Please see "Private Events" for more details and themes. Thank you for visiting!
