It's a fun, fast-moving hour devoted to traditional Japanese culture with an emphasis on kimono as both clothing and a window into today's society. A typical seminar will feature:
Real kimono, from antiques to modern
Authentic Japanese items like shrine charms and calligraphy brushes
A chance for at least two volunteers to get dressed in kimono
History, culture and Q&A session
Seminars can be tailored to age groups and to focus more on general Japanese culture, Japanese language, fabrics for quilting, or kimono specifically. Please ask if you have something specific in mind.
